The roaring 20's was a time of consumerism, leisure, and rebellion. The women of 1920 smoked, consumed, danced, and voted. That they cut their head of hair, wore make-up, and attended massive parties. They were known as flappers. Young women would not date instead they anxiously waited until an appropriate young man showed interest with right motives. Since nearly a whole technology of teenage boys had perished in the warfare, there was nearly a whole generation of youthful women devoid of possible suitors. The biggest change was political. Many women believed that they a new right to possess a part in politics, and so they noticed that political decisions affected their daily lives. When the Nineteenth Modification was passed in 1920 it gave women the right to vote. Girls were lively in governmental policies in 1929, although they had little electric power; they were nearer to actual personal equality. The top class had many new kitchen appliances and by having an appliance this showed the social position. They also experienced servants to perform their job and other chores. In middle-class homes, woman family members were the main way to obtain labor in the home that were there electric devices but they had to run these people. The servants were employed to do only the difficult duties. The position from the working school in Canada in 1920 was extremely tough because of the long lasting pressure from the part of business employers and the federal government. Because of these problems Canadian staff had started to organize unions at the two local and national level and eventually came up with the CCF, the political get together which was standing for their hobbies at the top amount of Canadian politics. Married working-class women were forced to work outside the home as housekeepers or in manufacturing industries. Most working-class ladies never experienced electrification or electric home appliances.
