FACTS BASED PRACTICE

Evidence base practice (EBP) is becoming the most practiced or adopted discipline in health care arenas (Roux, & Halstead, 2009). Why is EBP well-liked is their reliance about partnership between proven technological evidence, scientific expertise, and individual needs of every patient. The main goal of EBP is usually to provide top quality care, standardize medical techniques at the ideal unbeatable cost. Medical practitioners will be held responsible for their activities or methods. The responsibility and large standards will be attributed to ERP and are adding factor to quality and cost, which usually drives the direction of healthcare (Makadon, H. L., Bharucha, Farrenheit., Gavin, Meters., Oliveira, J., & Wietecha, M. (2010). This amount of accountability has resulted in a greater exam as to what health care approach is needed or must be used or perhaps which strategy works and the ones that do certainly not work. As a result, Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) has turned into a guide to help nurses produce efficient, powerful, timely, and suitable clinical decisions reacting to broad political, professional and interpersonal forces that nurses and other health professionals are confronted with daily(Scott & McSherry, 2009). In respect to Melnyk and Fineout- Overholt (2005, p. 51), evidence centered practice is defined as a " problem solving way of clinical practice that using a clinician's expertise and patient preference and valves to make decisions about care”. Evidence Based Practice is becoming a goal of all healthcare institutions and offers an requirement to the professional nurse who will be expected to use current proof when looking after patient. Proof based practice is based on analysis findings that have been accepted by nurse practitioners and peer analyzed to guide scientific decision making regarding patient proper care. Excellent individual care will be based upon research proof and can be utilized to create scientific guidelines to standardize sufferer care (Belcher & Vonderhaar, 2005). Many healthcare companies and organizations are accepting this practice to avoid financial obligations as well. Evidence Based Practice is a step-by-step approach to logical decision making that facilitates achievement in continuing best practices in health care. This indication features reduced catheter associated urinary tract contamination in Home Care (Belcher & Vonderhaar, 2005). In 2009, The Performance Improvement Section of one House Health Agency (HIHA) known an increase in the speed of catheter – linked urinary system infection (CAUTI). A research study was accomplished to identify the factors adding to the increase and what procedures should be utilized to treat it. In line with the Center for Disease Control and Reduction (CDC, 2011) CAUTI generally occurred in HAIS and makes up more than thirty percent of which severe hospitals studies. The Association for Pros in Contamination and Epidemiology (APIC, 2008) reported that CAUTI is the most common contamination in long-term facilities. The CDC found that identifying a procedure using data based practice will support the prevention of infections could limit the pass on of attacks. Base on the research, the following measures had been put into place: not using the same syringe intended for multiple people, changing acrylic gloves among patients, and washing of hands consistently etc . These types of measures were put in place to manage the infection; restricting indwelling Catheter use in Permanent facilities, Guaranteeing hand hygiene and aseptic technique the moment inserting a great indwelling urinary catheter, avoiding obstruction from the drainage system, position the bag below the level of the bladder all the time, and draining the collection tote regularly. As evidence, the rate of CAUTI incidents features decreased steadily during 2011 (Deluca & Boro-Snell 2012).
